Chapter 2

The opulent palace stretched in all directions, seeming not to end. Its immense columns lined the cavernous hall, like armies of never-ending giants. Rising high above the manor, the ceiling was frescoed in rainbow colors and sprinkled with bright rubies and lustrous sapphires that cast prismatic light on the onyx floors like sunlight off a black sea.

TreeNestled in the Valley Rorh and ringed by the Andorian Mountains, the Palace Grounds of Ganesh abounded in color and beauty. Towering palm trees, sprawling flower gardens, and crystal clear brooks dominated the landscape, giving sanctuary to countless of enchanted creatures. Throughout the glen, winding pathways invited inhabitants and visitors alike to marvel at the sheer splendor of the secluded valley.

The grand Palace of Ganesh stood as a symbol of hope and aspiration, kindness and benevolence, offering selflessness, goodwill, and openheartedness to all who sought her hospitality.

Inside the palace’s great hall, flanked by two diamond golems, rested a jewel-encrusted throne the height of three men and the width of two, its enormity dwarfing the largest of hill giants. The towering throne opened its arms to the noble Deity of Good Fortune, the four-armed, elephant-headed Ganesh.

Here the Ganesh assembles his droves of feline, canine, and avian creatures to gaze upon the Mirror of Seeing. Scattered throughout Mirror of Seeing the hall countless familiars appeared and disappeared as they traveled to and from different realms, helping those in need and deserving of good fortune. Commissioning his emissaries to their charges, Ganesh delegated with great care and affection.

Within the Mirror of Seeing, Ganesh watched as Baba Yaga unleashed her bolt of energy. The magical missile smashed the mirror’s surface, exploding glass outward toward the on looking deity. Ganesh flashed a hand and captured the countless shards of glass within a blue aura shield, reversing their course back into the mirror.

ButterflyWhen the surface renewed, the Mirror of Seeing showed a dark-haired boy grieving the loss of his father while his mother consoled him. Ganesh’s great heart sank. He closed his eyes and flapped his massive ear. From the palace’s grand hall, a familiar vanished.
